INJECTION MOULDED ARTICLES
A
revolutionary product, a traditional technique.
Mater-Bi®
can be moulded using normal injection presses, with cold runners
or hot chamber injection systems. The maximum injection temperature
is less than 200°C. About 10% of the scraps can be reused in injection
moulding, which is similar to traditional plastic products. Mater-Bi®
can be coloured using the Mater-Bi®-based,
biodegradable Master Batches, which are available from Clariant
and other manufacturers.
With an innovative injection moulding process, sticks
of biodegradable starch can be produced, that are water-soluble,
easily disposed of in the drain system, without any difficulty for
the water collection and purification systems.
Mater-Bi®
cutlery is injection moulded, using a starch-based material obtained
from cellulose.
With Mater-Bi®,
you can injection mould a variety of objects, such as pencil
sharpeners, rulers, cartridges, toys, plant pots, and bones and
other objects for pets to chew and to play with.
Combs
made of Mater-Bi®
have the additional advantage of being anti-static, eliminating
inconveniences due to the accumulation of electrical charge on conventional
combs.
