Thanks to the collaboration with Goodyear, the world's largest tire manufacture, Novamont produced an additive, or biofiller, from maize starch, which replaces part of the lampblack and silica normally contained in the tire mixture.

The new tire: improving performance and the environment in three ways.
The new Goodyear tire, which is based on Biotred technology, achieves a whole series of objectives, in terms of environmental protection and prevention, as well as ensuring top performance for the driver. In fact, Biotred technology, which uses the Mater-Bi TM biofiller, considerably reduces resistance to rolling (and therefore, the fuel consumption of the vehicle), noise (sound pollution), carbon dioxide emissions (atmospheric pollution), and the energy necessary for the manufacturing process. All of this using a renewable raw material, which reduces the use of the earth's natural resources to a minimum.
